Last night was one of the worst nights we had in about 7-9 months. Madison woke up SCREAMING at 1:30 am, I went into her room and started to rock her, which usually works, after about a minute I can usually lay her back down. However, last night every time I even attempted to get up she started screaming again. After about 1/2 hr. I just put her in her crib. She immediately started screaming again and after about 10 min. Matt went in. When she saw him she began to scream louder, I guess she wanted me.
Matt got her out and then they went to the T.V room to watch a movie and have milk. After about an hour Matt tried putting her down again. She went down ok but after 5 min she began screaming again so we brought her into bed with us. She never actually sleeps in our bed but it calms her down. After about a 1/2 hour we put her back in her crib. Once again she began screaming I finally went in there at around 4:00am and told her I wasn't coming in until she stopped crying. Much to my surprise, because she was crying really hard, she stopped crying. I went in and she started pointing to the blanket on the floor. Just before we put her to bed that night we changed her sheets and gave her a new blanket. I was planning on washing the one that she has used every night since she turned one in the morning. I asked her if she wanted that blanket and she said yes. The second I wrapped her in the blanket she was fast asleep.
I had no idea she was so attached to that blanket. It was both relieving and frustrating that after 2 and 1/2 hours all she needed was her old blanket. I have officially learned my lesson.

I told myself I would never do this, but I decided it was a great way to keep in touch so here we go.
